Currently, with Thermax, Prof. R.R. Sonde is a PhD from IIT Bombay. An expert in the field of energy, Dr. Sonde has worked for nearly 25 years in Department of Atomic Energy. He was awarded the Dr. Homi Bhabha Gold Medal by the Prime Minister in 2006, for his outstanding contributions in the field of nuclear energy. A Member of the Department of Science & Technology's Scientific Advisory committee, Dr. Sonde continues to serve as member on the IIT Senate Committee. Prof. S. Manikutty is a mechanical and an electrical engineer, graduating from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (London) and the Institution of Electrical Engineers (London). He joined the Indian Railways as a mechanical engineer in 1969 and served in various managerial positions. While in service, he did his doctoral programme in Management (Fellow Programme) from the Indian Institute of Ahmedabad, India. On completion of his doctoral programme, he joined the Indian Railways back as a Professor in the Indian Railways' in-house training college at Baroda. A renowned researcher in field of innovation management, Dr. Gupta earned his Ph.D. degree in management from Kurukshetra University (India) in 1986 after his masters in Biochemical Genetics in 1974 from Haryana Agricultural University, Haryana. He is currently a professor in the Centre for Management in Agriculture at IIM, Ahmedabad. He has won several prestigious awards for his work on grass root innovations. His unique work analyzing indigenous knowledge of farmers and pastoralists and building bridges to science based knowledge led to the honor of being elected at a young age to India’s National Academy of Agricultural Sciences and recognition through Pew Conservation Scholar Award of USD 150,000, 1993 96 from University of Michigan. Prof. MR Dixit is a Faculty member of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA). He has been teaching at IIMA since 1981. Prior to joining IIMA he, worked in the Corporate Planning division of HMT, a large diversified company in India. He has written several cases and published papers in the field of strategic management. His teaching, research and consulting areas are Corporate and Competitive strategies, Taking Charge and Leading Strategy, Innovation and Knowledge Management, and Case Method of Learning. Professor Arnab Laha is currently an Assistant Professor in the Productions and Quantitative Methods area at IIM Ahmedabad. A PhD. From Indian Statistical Institute Prof. Laha is a member of Operations Research Society of India and the Indian Association for Productivity, Quality and Reliability. Formerly he was Vice President and Technical Training Leader, Analytics CoE, Genpact. Prof. Laha’s current research interests include Robustness of tests and estimators with Directional Data, Portfolio allocation with heavy tailed return distributions, Change Point problems with directional data, Detection of Multiple Change Points in financial time series, Statistical Quality Control with angular data and Analysis of rank data. Prof. Laha has published extensively in several international research journals. Professor Ernesto Noronha has a Ph.D in Social Sciences from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. His academic interests include ethnicity and diversity at the workplace, technology and work, cross-cultural issues in management, labour and globalization, organization control and research methodology. His current research examines work experiences in ITES-BPO organizations and collective formation in the ITES-BPO sector. Professor Noronha has published a number of articles in refereed national and international journals, besides several presentations at national and international conferences. His work on the ITES-BPO sector received research grants from the Indo-Dutch Programme on Alternative Development and the International Labour Organization, Geneva. In 2009, Professor Premilla D’Cruz and he were the joint recipients of the Distinguished Young Professor Award for Excellence in Research at IIMA instituted by the IIMA Class of 2006. Read More |

Amit Garg is a faculty at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He specializes in energy, climate change and sustainable development issues. Prof Garg teaches courses such as Carbon Finance, Agribusiness and Climate Change, Public Management, Managing Energy Businesses, Energy Markets and Energy Businesses etc. His current research interests include carbon finance, energy policy, corporate accounting of greenhouse gases, energy and environment modeling, water-energy-agriculture nexus, and aligning climate change with sustainable development. He has co-authored four books, 14 international research reports and published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals. He has been a Lead Author for UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s four reports on global climate change. |
